Meet the Team


Laurie Laurie, Registered Dental Hygienist
As an integral part of the Bellevue Dental Excellence team, Laurie is responsible for assessing your oral health, developing a personalized clinical oral hygiene plan, and educating you about your oral health and needs.

Laurie's father is a retired dentist, and as she grew up around the field, she knew that she would like to be involved in dentistry one day. She first attended Arizona State University and went on to the Pacific University of Oregon where she obtained her Bachelors degree with honors in Dental Hygiene and was the recipient of the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for clinical excellence.

Laurie has been actively involved in dentistry since 2006 and has been an incredible asset to Dr. Sunwoo and the patients at Bellevue Dental Excellence since 2008. She enjoys working with the dental team to educate and care for our patients.

Laurie is a native of the Bellevue area and in her time away from the office enjoys spending time with her friends and family and playing softball.

KristiKristi, Office Manager
As the Office Manager of Bellevue Dental Excellence, Kristi will be the liaison between you and your insurance company, will help you obtain financing for your dental care and will stop at nothing to make sure that you are comfortable with all of the options that have been presented to you. She will be your first contact within the practice and will help you to schedule appointments and will greet you upon arrival to the office.

Kristi first began her dental career as a Dental Assistant, graduating at the top of her class in 2003 from Lake Washington Technical College. As a longtime employee of Bellevue Dental Excellence, Kristi has been with Dr. Sunwoo since April of 2004 when he took over ownership of the office. She knows all of the patients by name and strives to make sure each and every patient is comfortable and taken care of. She enjoys all facets of dentistry, but especially loves seeing patients through their Smile Makeovers; seeing patients so happy with their new smiles is very rewarding!

Kristi is a native of Las Vegas, NV, and has lived in the Seattle area since 1995. She now owns her own home in Lynnwood where she lives with her two rescued cats, Max and Lulu. In her free time she enjoys traveling, decorating her new house, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Sofi Sofi, Registered Dental Assistant
As our Lead Dental Assistant, Sofi will oversee and assist with your procedures and be by your side for all of your treatment needs. As a valuable part of the Bellevue Dental Excellence team she is instrumental in all facets of your clinical care from assisting Dr. Sunwoo, implementing proper sterilization procedures, maintaining supplies, and various lab duties.

Sofi has working in the dentistry field since graduating from Dental Assisting school in January of 2007 and has been a part of our practice since April of that year. Sofi's favorite thing about dentistry is playing a part in smile restorations and makeovers and then witnessing a patient’s excitement when they see their new smiles for the first time. Since working for Dr. Sunwoo she has come to appreciate his "bedside manner" with patients and the way that he is able to put any patient at ease.

A native of Eugene, Oregon, Sofi has lived in the Seattle area since 1990. She spends a majority of her free time volunteering as a cheerleading coach for Tyee High School.
